V+?: British Museum, Again

Back in London. It is hot!

The nearest Underground is closed weekends this year so we walked over to the British Museum, again, which we had planned to do anyway.

I took some pickup shots of the Assyrians and we did Medieval Europe and Mexico. Mexico has a tiny lttle room but with some cool pieces.

I bought a naughty book at the BM.

We also went to Forbidden Planet, the Cult Entertainment Mega Store. pilgham used to go there when he was at school, before it was a mega store. I saw lots of things I wanted but am running low on suitcase space so I made notes. pilgham wouldn't wait in the queue so he also came away empty handed.

All  in all, a pleasant low key day.

Edit 1626:

These are the things I wanted from Forbidden Planet:

Snow White and the Seven Samurai by Tom Holt. I actually would have bought this if they had had it. I like Holt and love the title. Though now I've read the summary it doesn't sound all that.

The Sisters Grimm by Michael Buckley. I may rething this one.

The Brief History of the Dead by Kevin Brockmeier. The way the living and dead worlds are linked sounded like it might be interesting.

Gideon the Cutpurse by Linda Buckley-Archer. It should come as no surprise that I'm always up for time travel.

Fox at the Front by Niles and Dobson. I now see this is a sequel to Fox on the Rhine so I should probably read that first.

Samurai Commando: Mission 1549. OK, after reading the review, this is another one I might rethink, but the possibilities for crossovers with Inuyasha are calling to me...

My Name is Modesty. Jeez, it's a good thing I made a list instead of squandering my dough.
