Ouatic-7 [userpic]
It's That Wonderful Time of the Year!

I came out of a lengthy meeting this afternoon to find emails declaring:

The St. Louis office is closed due to severe weather.
The Indianapolis office is closed due to severe weather.
The Milwaukee office is closed due to severe weather.

The observant will notice that these three cities form a triangle around Chicago. Yes, today is marked by the first big snowstorm of the season.

I drove home at 20-30 miles an hour and my 15 minute commute was lengthened to 20 minutes. Not bad, huh? However, the folks going the other direction were moving at about a tenth of that speed and the weather was too nasty to stop off and collect a bottle of champagne like I had planned to do.

For the amusement of those living in milder climes, particularly those who emigrated from the frozen north I have add a new link, Palwaukee NOAA. The local weather station is at the local airport (Palwaukee) which is close enough that the bad crash they had a while back shook our house, so it should be reasonably accurate for my home.

I am reminded that tomorrow is Quirky's birthday so, just in case I forget tomorrow, have a great day!

Mood: annoyedGlad to be home but missing my champagne

I am reminded that tomorrow is Quirky's birthday so, just in case I forget tomorrow, have a great day!

Thank you!

Isn't this snowstorm something? It was very dangerous driving home, and there were several accidents. I just live 10 minutes from my house and it took me twice as long. It's pretty but sure is scary to drive in. Not to mention people don't know HOW to drive in this weather it seems and everyone freaks out or drives recklessly.

I'm glad my boyfriend is driving tonight.

Have an enjoyable night and stay warm!

I'm doing my part to stay warm by not going out and shoveling or even making MD do it.

You always seem to be drinking Champagne these days, you must love the stuff. Or are you a regular Edina?

Brrrrr. Don't go outside! Stay inside and drink your cham</i> hot cider. It was cold here as well. Temps were down in the 40s today.

forgot to end strike. I meant drink your cham hot cider.

Wouldn't she be more of a Patsy? I can't picture her wearing too-tight designer clothes and running around saying, "La Croix, sweetie!" Though there is the daughter factor.

Ouatic is wilder than she lets on, I gather. So does that make Nokomarie, Edina then? The two of them running wild and drinking cham in bright colors and leather.

And ogling the pretty men!

I hope I have more common sense than either.

Sadly, I have been known to wear too tight clothes.

Haven't I told you my philosophy of Champagne?

Drink champagne to celebrate and drink champagne when you're feeling down and need to be cheered up. Bubbly is an all purpose drink. It's not that I like the taste so much but it is such a happy booze.

Tequila makes me happy. And stupid. And more recently apparently, after my experience after just one drink Tuesday night, nauseous.

Besides, by the time you get into that bottle, you deserve that drink!

He hee, it's like a new meme!

It looks like you are just getting the edge of it. Lots of people at HQ, in Chelmsford, are staying home today. Oops! I shouldn't have written that; I 've made bad juju.

Oh, for those halcyon days of 40 degrees or better...

It's raining on the snow. Dropped off himself for more surgery stuff and made it up the driveway with the tracking response beeping all the way. Looks like I nearly went into a 360°.

Shall presently have to put on spikes to shovel off drive and spread salt in the rain and slush so that Daughter #1 and Himself can ride up it in her (much less nimble) car. No falls for him!

Then I get to go to work for half a shift at a place I don't want to go to. Grr!

Chelmsford can eat raw onions for all I care! I know I am. ::Grins::

OK, so I'm planning on breathing in people's faces. 'Twill bring me joy.

Simple pleasures for simple minds.
