Fiddling While Palatine Melts

MD's old violin teacher is having an outdoor recital this evening. She has former students come back as ringers, so at least some of the playing is tolerable. MD is one of these so I have to drive to Palatine in a bit. P is meeting us there.

Not looking forward to this. It's hot, won't be all fiddling (meaning some classical included) and I don't like outdoor stuff. Also, there is no public WC nearby. On the upside, I have the latest Lois McMaster Bujold to read.

I heard from Tech-Cor, the body shop (that's an understatement. The place is ginormous.) that's fixing my baby. I'm due to get it back 7/6.

You know, once the thing has been dinged it isn't really the same so I was sort of hoping I would have an excuse to get a new car but no such luck. The dealer even has the model I want for 20% off because it's a 2005.

I am far from being a perfect driver so I hadn't planned to go to the court date but the amount of aggro this is giving me, I might change my mind. At least I like the rental I have. It's a Hyundai Elantra and quite peppy.

Tune: "Pink Cadillac" by Masters, Sonny & His Rocking Rhythm

I LOVE peppy vehicles (: Right now, though, my husband {actually, just my husband} drives this big, ugly, rusted, dented {not by us} 80s Ford F-150 that cannot climb any huge hills currently, thus cannot get out of town. Grr.

heat + no WC + classical violin = MD owes you big-time for this one

*attempts to fan some a/c in your direction*

As it turned out, the concert wasn't bad. I didn't record it because of the ambient noise but there was only one very small child playing a screeching violin. The rest of the pieces were decent and your fanning must have worked because the heat was bearable.
