I am a dilettante. I am avidly interested in a topic for a couple of years then become bored and move on. Past interests:
Cooking
Needlework/Sewing (I sewed my wedding dress)
Fitness (Wish I hadn't lost interest in this)
Karate (or this)
Asian Cinema (still watch but not as much)
Web Design (I have a web site devoted to movie reviews, mainly of Asian cinema. That's where I cribbed most of my icons from.)

pilgham) software engineer and the ranting king. The funniest guy I know. He has been writing a space game for the last several years (at least five) but he's gotten stalled on the world generator. He's happy with the landscape randomizer but he's having problems simulating weather.
Monster Daughter (MD) teenager and the ranting princess. She plays the violin and introduced me to fan-fic and GAFF. Inherited her Dad's wit.
Evil, the enormously fat cat, and Buddha (Boo), her unclear on the concept of neutering sib-cat, perform the roles of my furry entourage.
Vocation:
I am a software engineer. My current employer has about 2500 employees. Prior to this, the largest company I've worked for since school days had about 60. I was self-employed for a goodly while but while I am an excellent coder not so hot as a marketer.
I've been at this professionally for close to 25 years. I am the only second generation programmer I know and probably one of the oldest, aside from my older brother, of course.
My first writing award! There were only two entries but competition was still fierce! Read The Toady Prince, you know you want to.
