FOUR JOBS I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE:

  1. Diaper Folder (or, as I like to think of it, Diaper Technician)
  2. Library Page
  3. Actuarial Clerk
  4. Software Engineer

FOUR THREE PLACES I HAVE LIVED: I REMEMBER LIVING:

  1. Chicago Metro
  2. Tucson, Arizona
  3. LA Metro

FOUR CURRENT TV SHOWS I LIKE TO WATCH:

  1. Naruto Shippuuden
  2. Burn Notice
  3. Psych
  4. Heroes

FOUR PLACES I'VE BEEN ON VACATION:

  1. Kirkwall, Orkney
  2. Mountain Home, AR
  3. Wisconsin Dells
  4. Cal Tech (way back in the day)

FOUR OF MY FAVORITE FOODS:

  1. Bean Burrito (black beans need not apply)
  2. Onion (or Scallion) Cake
  3. Rye Rolls
  4. Kamoosh

I WOULD RATHER BE RIGHT NOW:

  1. Not preparing to drive MD to violin. Our regular route has construction traffic detoured down it and the alternate route is closed due to flooding.
  2. Eating kamoosh  with pilgham at La Choza while a badly dubbed wire-foo movie plays on the telly.
  3. Not feeling guilty for not working today.
  4. Arthritis free

FOUR FRIENDS I THINK WILL RESPOND:
I'm gonna punt on this.

FOUR PLACES I LIKE TO SHOP BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE MY HOUSE:

  1. Amazon.com
  2. eBags. I shop there but after they sent me the wrong bag 3 times for the same order, I don't buy. However, it's a good place to see what is available when you need to buy something of a baggy nature.
  3. Think Geek
  4. Zillow

How long has your daughter been playing violin now?

And what piece is she studying ATM?

Copland's Hoedown is the one I know for sure.

8 years. Proud Mama that I am, I think she's pretty good.

I'd say so, seeing as how she's been doing it for so long.

LA Metro

You lived on the metro, as in underground train?

Is Burn Notice any good? I sometimes watch Psych, or bits of it. My tv time is limited and oft interrupted these days, but I enjoy how silly and slashy those two get.

Actually I lived on the land they condemned for the train, that's why I had to move to Chicago.

I like Burn Notice. P and MD also liked it but have gotten tired of it. The main character, Michael, has two main partners in what-have-you, Sam (Bruce Campbell and a reason to watch the show right there) and Fiona. He's sleeping with Fiona so less slashy than Psych.

Michael's idea of fun is to have the Libyan secret police send a fruit basket to a person in the US security community he wants to rile.

Burn Notice does sound pretty good - love the sense of humor.

Your four jobs are even wilder than mine, and what does one do for a vacation at Cal Tech? (I'm from the Pasadena area originally....)

One of my best buddies went to school there and after my term was up I went to visit. I actually knew a couple of people besides my buddy

Activities:
read while my friend was in class
hung out with smart people
went to beach
went to Disneyland on JPL night
discarded virginity

It was very relaxing.

What were your four jobs?

(1) Arts and crafts teacher for smart kids from the barrio who were doing a summer intensive college prep/study skills course..."Yes, I know what that flat bead with the big hole is that you made in ceramics and NO, you are not making smoking stones in my class...."
(2) Nude model for 2 college art departments
(3) Newspaper insert stuffer, yes I was responsible for putting the ads from Target, etc. into the Sunday newspaper.
(4) Spring finisher. Worked in a factory that made small metal parts. Weirdest things I ever made were retaining springs that hold the tops of police holsters snug around the gun and porta-potty handles.
Now I'm a bilingual speech/language pathologist working for a school district; I do therapy with 52 kids between the ages of 3 and 12 and I test Spanish-speaking kids at 11 schools for special education placements.
