Yaaay!

Terrific!

I especially liked MD's snazzy little number near the end of the birthday song. Noko needs to get a sound card for her birthday so that she can actually hear our birthday wishes.

Re: Yaaay!

Aaaaaack!

Re: Yaaay!

So, were you able to do anything festive to commemorate the anniversary of your birth?

Re: Yaaay!

Talked to people. Got a hand-made mug from WVa. Acted like an ass, really and got away with it on account of it was my B-Day. Worked for me.

Re: Yaaay!

Sounds good. I'm all in favor of talking and getting away with stuff.

Re: Yaaay!

Come to think of it, could you re-send that file as the body of a letter or create a post here that I can just copy and paste? The comp problems are very real and all kinds of annoying things turn up. Not least because I had to disengage briefly to fax in my work slips.

Re: Yaaay!

You mean the MP3 as an email?

Re: Yaaay!

Done!

I think.

Re: Yaaay!

For that, I need Meaghan's computer and the fink does not like me creeping into her room to fire up her laptop.

No, I meant your Beta work on the current chapter. I pretty well put in all of your revisions last night and was ready to complete the re-write on the lemon when I got side-tracked...

Waking up this morning and seeing Richard out I remembered that I had not faxed in my timeslips. This poor, damned thing has no active memory to speak of and I lost all of last nights work. This is a problem that will be fixed, but, for the moment, I am working with two left boots.

Re: Yaaay!

It's too long to post on LJ. I will try the email thing.

Re: Yaaay!

Beta thing sent.

Re: Yaaay!

It's printing as I write. Dang, but this whole limping-computer thing is one weird deal.

I WILL be hearing your tone post today. I definitely want to.

Re: Yaaay!

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Re: Yaaay!

What, like the Beatles?

Re: Yaaay!

Good night, Gracie.

Re: Yaaay!

Hey, find an ashtray for that thing.

Re: Yaaay!

Can't you use another computer? To hear it, I mean?

Re: Yaaay!

I did. I have one message for Ouatic, for crap's sake, woman, buy your daughter some new strings!

MD, apparently you can wrench a good tune out of an old boot. Thank you.

Re: Yaaay!

MD agrees that the recording sounds horrible.

I maintain that her teacher would say something if she needed new strings and theorize that recording with a cell phone and being compressed down to 71 kb/s has, perhaps, significantly impacted the sound quality.

Next time I'll use a better recorder and mike and see if we get better results.

Re: Yaaay!

Oh, come-on, buy the poor girl some strings.

Re: Yaaay!

ANd I didn't even have to prompt her to say "Happy Birthday, Noko" instead of "Happy Birthday, me."

Of course, when she was 3...

Re: Yaaay!

You would've had to have used the wire hangers, I know.

Re: Yaaay!

There's a reason I keep those things around.

I certainly don't hang clothes on them.

Re: Yaaay!

For when Plgham acts up?

OMG! she's great! make sure she keeps practicing so she can go to college on a violin scholarship.....

you're gotten more out of your kids today than me.... hm. wonder if they're still up!

go MD!

On the one hand, MD is great. She's the concertmistress for her orchestra this year and she has even me enjoying string music.

On the other hand, "Happy Birthday" probably isn't much of a challenge. I'll see if I can rope her into doing some fiddling.

oh yes! that would be terrific. i could show it off to my son and see if i could get him to get more serious about his trumpet this fall (he completely lapsed over the summer, little whelp.) i'll try to convince him he needs to do a christmas concert! (ha, well, it's worth a try....)

As a voice post I would rate it a 7 or 8. It had good pacing, I only went "um" once that I noticed and MD played well. I have to knock of points for occasional low volume and muddy sound, however.
